Becoming a cosmetologist was never supposed to be my permanent career. In the early 2000s my dream was to be an architect. At the time, moving away to go to school was not an option and, Nashville, being a lot smaller of a city at the time, did not have the type of schooling available to do what I had in mind. So I went to cosmetology school in hopes of moving away, and doing hair to pay for life and the college I would need to further my pursuit of architectural engineering. But the universe had its own plan for me! Fast forward a few years & 3 baby boys later, here I am! I’m not an architect, but I’d never be able to imagine life any differently. My calling was not just doing hair, but helping people to feel great about themselves.

In my spare time, I love to work outdoors in my yard. Planting flowers, cutting grass, and landscaping. With my 3 boys, we love traveling, camping, canoeing, beaching, and attending small live music shows.

Kelly has been in the industry since 2002, and has been an esthetician at Studio Gaven since 2005. Utilizing her skincare line of choice, Image Skincare, she helps to transform her guests’ skin and give healthy, youthful complexions. Not only does Kelly specialize in skincare, but she also is an expert in brow waxes! “Brows are sisters, not twins!”

When Kelly is away from the salon, she loves to spend time on the water. Any lake, river, or ocean is her favorite place on earth!

Bio
Dr. Viner was born in Nashville and raised in Connecticut. He attended Wesleyan University and graduated Magna cum Laude with honors in Philosophy. Dr. Viner returned to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and he completed his general surgery internship and otolaryngology residency in Ohio at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He received special commendation for service at the prestigious Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, and he presented papers at conferences in Chicago, Denver, and Nice, France. As a chief resident, he traveled to Lithuania on a surgical mission trip, teaching current otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery techniques. After residency, Dr. Viner returned to Nashville and joined OAT. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and maintains memberships in the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has been selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America” and has served as the chief of Otolaryngology at Baptist Hospital. Dr. Viner cares for a broad array of ear, nose, and throat disorders. When he visits us here at Studio Gaven, he offers Dysport and Fillers to his guests. He is an avid reader, enjoys playing tennis, and treasures time with his wife and three children.

I started working in my first hair salon when I was 16 years old as a receptionist. I quickly became interested in what the stylists were doing. I found myself wanting to learn more, not only about the technical skills of being a professional stylist, but also the business side of the salon. I graduated high school and attended college for business. Then I went to Paul Mitchell, where I started my career in cosmetology! I love making people laugh and smile. That is my number one goal for each day! When I am not at the salon, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family on the lake. But my heart belongs to my American Bully Kane!

I chose cosmetology because it was something that always came to me naturally and I got tired of chasing careers that didn’t bring me joy. My best friend convinced me to move to Nashville with her from our small town in fort Myers Florida and I joined cosmetology school and now I’m living the dream! My parents along with my 4 brothers all still live in Florida so I still get to travel to the beach frequently, YAY! Outside of the salon I live a pretty quiet life with occasional girls nights! I love my rowing classes and volunteering for Book-Em Reading Group to help incite reading in elementary schools.
